2011-03-27 Naciamento Full

This has been a very wet winter for us on the central Kali coast area. Expected rain fall is ~230% over normal, and finally the streams, rivers, and lakes are full. It had been raining for a week straight, and finally clear weather was forecast.

I decided to go for a ride while the water was running strong and proud.

The Huero-Huero, La Panza Rd near Ca 41, looking South to the berg of Creston.

It's been at least 12 years, IIRC, that this creek has run.. looking South.

Wabs waits patiently, and yes, this as far as went - the rear tire is below the rim already, it took a couple of minutes to get her out of here..

This a back road I normally take to Paso Robles, CA. Today, though, I chickened out. We've already had 4 fast water river rescues and I didn't want to be the 5th DUMB ASS on the news. Not for this, at least!

This guy is interesting. Over the years, he's been transforming his house and acreage into a gold town look alike.. Kinda cool - I think that some folks still have imagination and drive. I admire both qualities.

Onto Lake Naciamento. Neighbor had mentioned the lake was full (El Torro Poo-Poo, no way) and water was cascading over the spill way. Had to check it out. Neighbor was correct!

Somehow, BustaNut came to mind, and I chuckled while snapping this pix.

Back to the overflow..

The lake has not been at 100% for many years..

Uhh, well, ok, maybe I was exaggerating a bit..

From Naci, heading south, then west, then south again. Sorry, ain't going to divulge the trail. Come see me and we'll ride it, 'k?

I saw this tree and actually came back for the photo. I'm disappointed it the quality and will go back later, but for now..

..and Dirt! Yeah, we got dirt in the central kali county!

and lots of oak trees too. I wonder if this guy is 100+ years old? It's possible.
