    Rest in Peace, our dear sweet Harley-D-Dog. You were such a good boy. 

    You liked everybody you sniffed, defended your humans with aggression only on last resort. 

    May you and Daisy, Ducati, Max, Sasha, Bear, and Jasper play forever in critter heaven.

    • Don Carver For the last 4 months, Harley hasn't wagged his tail. Riding in his truck today on his final ride, I look to the backseat and see his nose sticking out the window and yes, his tail was wagging. 

      Later, at the vet, I picked him up from the back seat and placed him into the truck bed. Again the tail wagged, this time, with reckless abandon. 

      It was good to see my HarleyD happy. Got to say, this loss hits hard to the heart.

    • Kim French Somehow they know how hard it is for us to do the right thing and they always give us some little sign that it's ok. When I took Bailey in I picked her up and instead of grumbling and wiggling to get down like she always did, she wrapped herself around me and cuddled me.

    • Don Carver Bill, he was urinating blood, and often could not get up off the floor. He no longer could get through the doggie door. 

      His eyes had grown sad, so sorrowful... He had already let me know it was time. It's just difficult to fullfill the responsibility. 

      Richard, Harley isn't all that far away from the tree...

      It hurts when the only move you can make to be the best friend to your best friend is make "that" decision. BTDT!
      The memories of my four legged family who've gone ahead are still vivid in my mind after all these years.
      I understand being that close. Then again, it's a great testimony to how much our furry friends give us from the depths of their hearts.

      It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors.
      Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
      hills and valleys with lush green grass.
      When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
      There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
      The old and frail animals are young again.
      Those who were sick, hurt or in pain are made whole again.
      There is only one thing missing,
      they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth.
      So each day they run and play until the day comes
      when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
      The nose twitches! The ears are up!
      The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group!
      You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet,
      you take him in your arms and hug him.
      He licks and kisses your face again and again -
      and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting
      pet.
      Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart.

    • Nancy Oswald Oh I'm so sorry. Our pets are so so special and losing them is the worst. Someone told me that when your dog passes, he wills your love to another dog. You'll find that dog soon enough. Best way to heal the pain is to love another dog. I know that seems impossible. I look at my 14 year old mutt and just can't imagine another dog, but my day will come too. Too soon, I fear.
