Air Compressor Died

 

After about 1.27 baZillion hours, the old gurl popped a piston ring.

Time to play Taps?

Truly a loud, POS, made in China compressor.
Then again, it has alot of hours..

Saw this beauty at Harbor Freight
But I'm too cheap to buy a nice quiet air compressor.

Parts arrived. New rod, piston, ring, cylinder. No oil.
Had to press the bearing out and re-use it.

Old. Ring is missing in this pic.

Cylinder still in good shape, amazing. No oil.

I cut the lower section of rod, allowing bearing to fall out.

The motor shaft has a counterbalancer. Remember to place it opposite of piston stroke.  

She fired right up and runs GREAT!
