Still working RHS Carb

Was concerned the butterfly wasn't fully closing. Looked again and saw equal opening
top and bottom. The idle screw was engaged! Backed it off and she closed perfectly.

Valuable info provided by Radar, aka Don W.
Can't Thank Radar enough for his help!

Out of order, but you can see the fit is good.

The vacuum port were as if it belonged to a 40mm carb. So measured the throat. WTFO? 36 mm?

Says 32 here...

...and here too. Radar confirmed it's 32. Not sure where Bing measures to get 32?

Always work in a tray!

Clip installed 3rd groove.

Oh SNAP. Bing info says 2nd groove!

Fixed!

Installing new diaphram.

Dirty ass ultransonic water.

20 minutes of Dawn detergent and ZEP degreaser.

Drain dirty water, last bath in Dawn only.

Found uncovered hose. It's flexible, must be on a hose. Not sure what it is for.

Here's the crankcase breather.. so what's the other hose for?
Look at screwdriver tip...

There is an open barb on the airbox. I'll fit a hose.

Emulsifier installation tool. Available here for $150!

Almost done..but I forgot the little spring on the fuel needle to float tang.

Nice and clean!

Next question... needle body orientation into housing?

This orientation is logical to me, and the two holes should face the venturi entrance.

Like this. I pulled the unmolested carb and looked, my ASSumption is correct.

Ready for install!
