Who says Nebraska and Iowa are boring?
Really, looking at the map and hearing horror stories.. I was dreading today's ride.
I stayed last night in Brighton, CO, at a Best Western that reminded me of a typical former WFO meet. Multi-story monolith buliding, but Rhonda at the front desk was way cool, let me reserve a room wo credit card then let me park KrZy8 right at the door.
Took off from Brighton, not Louchbie.. there are no hotels in Louchbie...
Starting mileage..
Good hotel.. Nice peeps, at 87 bucks a deal.
They even let me park under cover and watchful eye...
Glorious cool morning.. cloudy, cool.
Revooners at work... It seems to me that the higher the allowed limit, the less tolerasant of speeding the LEO's are.. I was running 80 at posted 75, this guy, just ahead of me, got busted at 83.
This reminds me of the Zzyzy road in CA..
Trailered bikes.. my gawd. So many Harleys.. and even Triumphs..
Better get used this scenery when travelling istate in NE..
Whooee - something to see! A crop duster doing his thing! I tried to entice him into a top speed run.. made contact with him, waved him on, he wagged wings then dumped pesticide... oh well, I tried.
Weather? Not yet, thankfully! I left my rain gloves at home..
I just love pix of my cockpit.
Is this a nooklear power plant? I seem to recall there is one in NE.. Calloway?
I stopped at a rest stop for my Ibuprofen.. and was happy I did. It was pretty cool.
I was fascinated reading about the early pioneers who crossed this on foot, horse, wagon.. To think it was taking me forever when running at 75?
Gott figure out what plant this is..
Yeah, I like power plants. I like energy. I like watching TV and having AC. Screw you that don't.
Self portrait.. I am really having a wonderful ride and time. I am so fortunate. So many know have died early, or are seriously ill, or can't afford 3 weeks on the road. I count my blessings.
I like the guy on mower behind me.. He was cool. He say the FJR, mowed a straight line over to it, stopped, gave the the thumbs up, adjusted his ear muffs, and mowed away. Notice the arthritic hand that's hurting in this pix?
OK then, I got to get my RANT on. Bikers in the US are STUPID. Apparently, UT, CO, NE, IA don't have helemt laws. I did not see ONE rider fully equipped as I across these states. This guy.. he would not even look at me. Turned his head as if I was some kind of dog tramp. I just don't get it. Most 'riders' are t-shirt, shorts, sandals, no helmet, doorag, sun glasses. I guess it's a damn good thing the roads don't have curves. Nice sandals, doode. :fuck:
I have no clue what this...
Lots of road construction..
DC volts on KrZy8 still good!
Rydahog when driving a cage? Give me a fuckin' break.
How is is this for riding gear? Oh, they have THREE wheels, what could go wrong, right?
Andrew, oh Andrew.
The loud handle, the rider, the blur. I like it.
Lincoln, NE - I liked this city. Does it snow here?
My view from the dcarvermasteryoda position..
x Into Iowa.. Very impressed with Iowa so far. The corn, growing thick as bamboo.. On terraced hillsides, curved rows. How do they grain drill the seed on a contour? They must use trackers, not wheeled tractors. The corn looked very cool, arcing and curving on undulating hillsides. Most impressive.
No clue why this pix is here..
Windmills! What Kali rider would ever guess windmills existed somewhre else than Tehachipik CA?
I like power plants, all forms, sizes and shapes - not just nuclear.
Farm fields and power. Perfect. Energy for body and soul.
My lodging tonight. 40 bucks. Internet. Fairlhy clean.. :)
Final numbers..
