2024-03-19 Top Airbox Install w/ Shims

Simply could not get the top airbox to fit by myself. And no help to be found. Get one side started, the other side pops off. Not to mention the center carb connection.

Solution? Wood shims! Worked GREAT. The pressure allowed me to manipulate the boots to fit over carb mouth.

Pics of the fit. Someday I need to buy a new airbox assembly. New to me that is.

Mine is tweaked due to heat cycles and age.

But I think it's good enough. Will spray with WD-40 after bike is running again.

Now to see if the old gurl wire fire up after replacing coils, ballast resistor, refurbed carbs, valve check, water pp seal. Later today maybe?
