Da Boyz decided to ride hiway 1 to the closure. Rumor has it both 1 and Naci-Ferguson should be open in  2-4 weeks? Unconfirmed rumor.
Here we are at the roads end. Foggy here, but south equals sunshine and warm! No heated gear needed!

Picked up a straggler riding a beautiful 1998 VFR 800? IIRC. That's him in helmet.

On the way to Morro Bay, Sun and Buns coffee shop, running late, and of course, of COURSE, road work.
I had filtered to que front and got past 2 cement trucks and 4 motorhomes. Ahh, motobikes rule!

No time for breakfast, so a bear claw and coffee, let's ride!

Near San Simeon, north bound.

More road work. That's OK, gave me time to open my bag of corn nuts and have a proper breakfast!

Never been to Hearst Castle, officially! Years ago rented a room in a house. The owner worked there, snuck us in and I got to swim in the big pool.

Approaching Ragged Point. The snack store is still closed.

Common theme today was trucks hauling bolders to the slide.

I like how Cal Trans covered the sign listing unavailable destinations.

...and, another rock truck. Along the route, they had flaggers for the tight corners to alert dumb-assed motorists that the trucks have to take 'WIDE' turns.

Not much has changed in Gorda. I bet they are hoping for the road to open ASAP.

Kirk Creek was full. Great spot for smaller rigs.

Lucia. Restaurant burned down, so a Taco Truck makes the best of it.

Ate lunch at Mill Creek turn out. Nice place, a creek and ocean. Bathroom and picnic table. Perfect.
