Anyone remember ‘Reject Randy’ from So Cal OTHG?

Was racing reject for the 20th position, having a great race..

Back and forth, multiple passes per lap.

White flag.

Time to go.

Thought I’d pass him one last time on the final jump before checkered flag.

Cross rutted, cross-jumped, took ol Reject down and out. Big crash.

I felt terrible.

Went back to where he was, he was down, on his back, squirming and moaning.

And his left boot, his foot, was not vertical. No, it was parallel, laying flat on the ground.

As in complete breakage, somewhere.

I felt sick. I caused this. My fault, now a rider is hurt, and hurt bad.

“Grab my boot and twist it up” yelled Randy.

Me - “You’re leg is broke, and broke bad, I won’t do that.”

Randy - “Ok, just grab my boot and hold it, ok?”

So I grab Reject’s boot.. and then he quickly twists his torso to rotate the break.

I felt something, kinda ‘fall into place’, about 1/8 to 1/4”?

Right about now, about 1 second from vomiting.

With that, Reject Randy gets up, walks to his bike, picks it up, and starts laughing.

Yep.

Reject Randy was named that because he had a fake lower left leg.
