Email arrived, a local feller named Steve asked if we would like to ride to the new solar farm just being built in Carrizo Plains. Two new plants under construction each very different than the other. More on that later.
Cold and foggy at the meet up point. Who would have thunk it, approx 25 bikes showed up!
3 FJR's. Airhead, Mr. Barry, and two other fellers. Not sure who they are or if they are on the forum.
The pack in the plains.
Former workmate on the right. Great guy, now retired. The bum.
Another shot of Dave. Fearless group leader, Steve, is a civil engineer on the project.
10 different solar panel pods, each arranged to mitigate giant kangaroo rat habitat.
Nice Honda.
David, ready to leave.
I've been taking pix of this barn for over 20 years now. Would be interesting to gather them all up then compare.
Back to the farm, I just don't get. 1.5 Billion, it generates 250 MW.. PG&E forced to buy power at 14 cents per kW, how many years, if ever, before there is payback?
