Second ride on KrZy8Eh - new FleaBay engine. Fresh oil change and general fastener check and off we go. It is a foggy departure. Miserable, actually.

First appt is with my chiro.
After having two very best buds help me stab a new engine into KrZy8, I now feel the need to take pix of peeps in my life - some on a professional basis, some friends, some family, the most important are riding buds. Two weeks before the engine swap, I really hurt my back. As in can't sleep at night, my 24-7 world is pain. Fortunately, according to my ortho, I have no pain receptors (false) and am immune. Reality is, I am very, very weary of the constant pain in my body. Excruciating, relentless, so off to the chiro. These guys do good work, I love them.

Blurry pix, but say hi to Anita. She has been with the group for many years, since 1987 maybe?

This is Doctor Dave. Bless his heart. He is a good Christian man, better at being fair than a business man, perhaps. I don't know the entire story, but will say his heart is true. How many times have I seen a good practicer (motobikes, human bodies, paint shops) and have troubles in business end?

Pet friendly, too!

People in my life. This guy, John Hurlbert, married me to my first wife, back in the day.
I forgive him, LOL.

If ever in Templeton, CA, this is the place to eat! Seriously good food at very reasonable prices.

Downtown Templeton, CA. Come visit and spend some $$ some time, OK?

The granery. All things considered, we locals are very blessed to have such a enterprise in existence today, year 2012. I would expect to see this in Iowa, Kansas... but in Templeton, CA?

I love my local hood.. If you need any *freakin* thing, here is the place..

Farther north is my bud Ivan's place..If you need your motobike worked on, the only place to go..

And now for the ride!  Santa Rosa creek road, heading towards Cambria..
and a reminder of fragile life is.

So then. Very few FjrForum now remember Andrew, OrangeValeFJR.
But I do.
I only hope that one peep does too.

Yes...and old barn. So full of life, and epecatations of a better futre.

Fucking Andrew! For want and desire of a woman to throw his life into a cement mountain of death.
Why?
Desperation?
Isolation?
Rejection?

I wonder because I can't imagine any person on the face of this earth having the control, power to make me want to end my life or to out right kill me -
and if you try, you had be ready for a fight -

So let's move on to the positive, eh?

Look at this road and weep, oh yee flat-landers!

Oh nooo, gravel! LOL:

Purty stuff here..

OK, this horse. Really. What a great animal. Check him out. Strong. Proud. Intelligent. In control of his universe. (How in control of *your* universe are you). ?

Look at his magnificence!

This creature lives in the confines of his masters world.,
What confines do yoiu live in?

Who is your master?
Money?

Job?

Power?

Back to the horse..

The road leads into Cambria, CA.
A nice little touristy town where you can spend too much money on anything your heart desires...

Just asking, does anyone see anything, uhh, discouraging  with this?

Wow. ..never saw this before...

Artirsty of welding, each reflactrion welded in place..

HiWay 46, Eastbound, Morro Rock in center.

On 101 NB, this car sighted, running at 92 mph, I was struck by the beauty of lines.. and it accelerated to 102 mph pretty quick too!
No match for the FJR, but no slouch either.. and drop dead gorgeous too!

I have lived in this country for 25+ years.. and Yet..
never explored this historical landmark literally yards away from the San Miguel Mission!

A old as pump - did the burro's and asse's die out leaving cars or what?

My bet is that 10,000 plus cars per month pass right by this historically significant place every month...

Love It! An Almond orchard water machine!

Water tower..

Where I was...

This Ca, earthquake country.. And this building has survived all - hmm...

Yep..,

Sure..clay, mud, really?

For you who live in areas that do not have the earth shake... let's just say this building construction is insanity...

Inside the store..

Very cool stuff.

The curator is a really nice lady and has lots of stories to tell too.

Cool old colorful safe.

Upstairs, the bedrooms. It appears the entire family slept here, parents and children.

The inside temperature was very cool, the adobe walls make great insulation. Outside it was 75F, inside maybe 68F.

A model of the mission. The real mission is just across the street.

See the dresser to the right? I have one almost identical to it. It was my grandma's, Ada Babb.

Incredibly beautiful wood working..

I could live in this house, and hope no earthquakes happened..

Almost bought this toaster, $45 seems reasonable, if not cheap!

Indian motobike stuff too!

Lots of old can's, papers, etc for sale too.

The Wells Fargo station.

Back outside, into the heat of the day. Where to ride next?

Adobe art.

Never needs winding or batteries! Not to good with Daylight Savings time, though :)

Across the street, the mission.

And this is where we were..

On the way to Parkfield, just north of San Miguel, this rancher / artist has a sense of humor as he/she dresses up this stump in various attire over the seasons.

Winter time, Kali style!

Getting close to Parkfield, CA

Fun place, and they will soon have Parkfield days.. think of drinking, dancing, lying and gamblin..

I ordered a tuna sandwich, it took them for freaking ever to make it.. so I learned about the features on the new camera.

A fun place, for sure!

And don't forget to ride fast so you outrun the earthquake..

Heading back to the Hondarosa on 41W, east of Shandon.

I always enjoy this view, cresting the mountain range and overlooking the valley.

The end, thanks for riding alongThe end, thanks for riding along!

Wonderful pics and memories, DC... I've been to many of the same spots and there is a barn photo that I swear I have the same one of somewhere in the plethora of ride photos somewhere... we never know how people make the decisions in their lives... and we wish that we could have done something to help guide them to a different choice... it's hard to deal with but the best we can do is honor those we love/d and make better decisions for our lives. You've done that. Thank you. :)
