Conflicts, constraints.Just off 6 weeks Leave of Absence from my real job to work the high dollar PG&E nookie gig. Is it fair to ask for time off just 5 short weeks later?

Is it fair to ask my wonderful mate, Shauna, to once again 'man' the Hondarosa? No, it's not. Then again, just today found out two friends of mine, my age, are, uh, 'without a future'.

So fuck it.

I'm in.BigOgre, from NERDville, determined he could not make it, and had to give up his room.

So I snagged it. Just now.

I give up.

Too much drama.

Transferred all the 'stuff' from KrZy8 to Wabs after troubleshooting KrZy8 two nights straight. I tried, I really did, to make KrZy8 healthy for this jaunt. Sometimes, though, forces greater than you thwart your puny little efforts.

So then, no need to be stressing the entire ride about the Regulator/Rectifier, or whatever is truly the problem, failing, leaving me stranded like MadMike at Death Valley. Besides, I have no room for a car battery on KrZy8.

Not only that, but I just got heated gear and want to use it!

..and I want to ride, not wrench or weld broken subframes. So KrZy8 is relegated to the barn for now. I do have a good starting point on KrZy8 for Eureka, though..

Got to thinking about Tim, TwoWheelNut, tonight while gazing at Wabs while working on KrZy8. The last time TWN weighed heavy on the mind was at Tim's memorial when Ignacio was to ride Tim's Feejer and it let him down with a slipping clutch. Several months later, I bought Wabs from Patti, the widow, and it let me down less than 2 miles from where it had been stored under loving covers. As if Tim was saying 'not yet, fuckers, still my rides!'

So now, with KrZy8 throwing a royal hissy bitch fit, and Wabs singing a Siren's song, "I'm over here, I'm ready, come on, let's ride...." Could it be possible? TWN having fun with me?

I think so!

Somehow I know Tim is chuckling and thinking what a idiot I am for even trying to get KrZy8 up and running strong in such a short time.

So I give up!

Wabs to NAFO or bust!

Oh, almost forgot -

:fuck:

Hugs n' Kisses

Every trip begins with prep work, and KrZy8 was fighting me hard. So I gave up and rode Wabs. Other peeps were having fun riding too!

Hot ride up 99 to mad mikes house.  Stopped to see Señor, in Mercy hospital Sac town.  Frail and thin, he recognized me immediately, and after getting cleaned up, joined Quack and I in conversation. He has great sense of humor, undergoing max rehab.  I steered the conversation to happy land, poking fun at his holiness (hole drilled in head to relieve pressure) and what not.  I fear he may not walk again, time will tell.  Told him about Pops, and how well he recovered from stroke, words of encouragement.

Overnight at Mikes house, Joseph found expensive Bistro for dinner.  Joe, trying to sophisticate the cretins?  Up at six, met Nightshine SM & Sean, Gary & Fran???, SacMike.  Rode with group for a bit then separate paths.

Callef FjRay, he sourced a rear tire for me from a local dealer, and a GREAT price too, $144 for a new Anakee. Wow!

KrZy8, in the light, just before I pulled the plug and decided to ride Wabs.

Wabs, ready to rock and roll, "let's go!"

Little did I know this would be the last time I saw our precious little Ducati kitty.

Ready to ride! Harley-D-Dawg wants to go too!

James Dean memorial, Shandon, CA.

Too bad for me, the Jack Ranch cafe was closed, no breakfast. I could have waited for 20 minutes but kept on trucking instead!

Damn it! My second choice restaurant is closed, bad economy perhaps?

Nice young girl at gas station!

Fjray sourced a new Anakee rear tire for me!  Local dealer, $144 out the door! Hiway 97 north from weed is a great ride!  Chilly, but nice.  New heated jacket works great!  Arrived at Rays, took them to mex dinner. Ymmmmm.

Two mighty big dawg FJR1300 and one IttyBittySixFiddy await their turn in the sun.

MadMike's motobike and immaculate garage. Hey, when you've ridden for hours in 100+ heat...

JumpingJoe aka MCML looking for this stash of cash...

A quick freeway jaunt North to meet up with fellow Feejer peeps - some who would ride further North with us, some just to eat breakfast.

Mike wonders where everyone went??

When Mike discovers a camera pointed his way, all bets are off!

In the restaurant, the food was excellent and we chowed down. As normal, I drank too much coffee which leads too, well you know what it leads too..enlightened

Joseph got him a new GPS, call him Mr. Gadget now! He really is enjoyed his new toy. Err, navigational device!

MadMike wonders about the day ahead...

??? Uberkuel maybe? Nightshine's son, Sean in the back.

MCML ready to ride.

??? Not sure if this UberKuel or who? That's the problem when you dont' take notes, just sayin'..

Nightshine, Sam.

Look at how huge the oleander plants are!

The rest of the gang headed up to mountains, I needed to get to FjRay's in La Pine, OR to work on Wabs rear tire and wobbly centerstand. The route was over to I5 to Weed, CA, then 97 north.

Oregon welcomes me n' Wabs! Look how nice and dry it is.. A bit chilly, the new heated jacket working wonders!

Small fire out in the distance.

Ran into this feller riding a BMW SS1000RR or whatever they call it. A crotchrocket bike.. and he was doing a 4-corners run. I asked if he was getting adequate sleep, he said yes, but it sure didn't look like it.. Nice guy. Tall too, for such a little bike.

Putting on his best face!

Ever been to Midland, OR? I have, cause I've been everywhere man,,,

Self portrait.. I've noticed over the years that the mustache gets grayer and grayer in these pix...

Little ol' Wabs, humming right along...

Ray cooking breakfast, slept great, beautiful morning!

Wabs has new rear tire, fixed center stand, balanced front tire, ready to rock!

Joe, Richard,Sam, Sean, Steve stopped by, said hi.  Jeremy and Tiffany too!  Ray fixed Jeremy's sticky rear brake pivot.

Nice dinner, jus chillin.  Tomorrow morning to Spokane, wa!

Hanging with Ray in the shop is truly a fun day. Lots of toyz to play with, learn how they work, and to see how a true craftsman uses them is all great fun.
I need one of these vises..

GrrrrrrrriZZZZZlllly, it's BEAR tough!

Ray at work on Wabs center stand. The pivot holes and egg-shaped out, Ray welded them up then used the mill to make them round again.

Wabs on the table in ER!

Soon enough, company arrived! L-R Mike, Patti, Patti's daughter and fiance.

Here the group does NOT realize I'm snapping pix.

Here, they DO! smiley

Mike and Joseph head out to the hotel in Bend. I'm staying over at Rays house one more night.

Sam and Sean, the CyclePort models! And look how new and fresh the gear looks, too! yes

Got to get pix in here, for now, from iPad...
Met mcml, madmike, rogdeb, Jeremy and Tiffany, rob and Terri, probably missing a few, in Bend, Or.
Up through John Day, lunch in ???, then interstate to Spokane.
Nice dinner, ribs, with rob, terry, ray, patti.  Table across, joe, mike, Sam,Sean.
Long day, 400 just minus miles, Wabs lead the way for a long time!

The first stop was for gas, Ray has one of them fancy cards..

Terri of Rob and Terri, Sam, Sean L-R, at the meet up point in Bend, Oregon. Of course we got lost trying to find them.. Ray had forgotten the hotel location or it had moved or Ray has burned a few brain cells or???devil

Patti, Mrs. FjRay. She is quite incredible.. hit hard by clown in car, this was her first big ride since major injuries. Gotta give you kudos, P..

Me thinks this is Recreate aka Steve from Az land.

Pretty scenery everywhere.

The group anointed FjRay as ride captain, with Patti running in 2nd position. The thought was to somewhat protect her 6 from cages.

So much green, unlike my la casa land..

Patti was still finding her wheels e.g. confidence. What we didn't immediately realize was that having all the bikes behind her was freaking her out and or pissing her off.. indecision

I now have a barn fetish. Andrew, OrangevaleFJR loved barns. Now I'm called to photo every old barn I can, LOL.

Beautiful countryside, me thinks this is on the way to John Day.

Kind of reminded me of Red Rock Canyon, Calif.

How some of these old barns still stand amazes me..

Sam and Sean just ahead of me, they had nifty mounting brackets for the Igloo water coolers.

I smell lunch coming on..

This is where BeemerDon's calls home, Fossil for a Fossil!

Talk about the little house on the Prairie?

Colorful sky cloud, no clue what causes it; it looked much better in real life than this pix.

Finally, lunch, and  I was more way than ready. I'd already been on the radio whining about how hungry I was..

Mike signals his approval. What a lone wolf, wouldn't park next to other peeps..

Mike looking angelic.. When he looks like this, you're in deep trouble. If you don't trust me on this one, just know you've been warned!

L-R Terri of Rob and Terri, Sam, Sean.

Green acres is the place to be, farm living is the life for me. NOT, I was sneezing the entire time.

Where we was, or at least that's my story.

Rob and Terri split from the herd to find rear brake pads..

Another dam picture..

Washington welcomes us!

Entering Ignacio land!

Iggie has these bridges in his fjrforum avatar, so I assume Pasco is somewhere nearby.

Blurry pix, trying to get the sign..

Lots of us rode Spokane to Castlegar, big group. Borde crossing took a long time, students being trained, and we had 15, 20 bikes?
The ride in was fun, I ran sweep with RogDeb following in the car.  Tooooo much fun in pub next door with some locals, Jeremy and Tiffany, Rob and Terry.... Pix to follow.

Jeremey and Tiffster, ready for the day ahead. Except he didn't have his Canadian proof of insurance card! LOL, later he would wonder about how necessary it would be...

..and an Audi with a Brit driver shall lead the lemming Feejer Peeps to the wet country!

Fresh cut hay. Where I live in central Kali, the 2nd and 3rd cutting has already happened.

This was a big group, larger than most. MadMike was point, MCML and me swapped tail gunner positions.

Yep, we're making a run for the Canadian border!

Wide open lush green valleys with fertile soil. Nice. Smelled good too!

No clue what this thing is...

Nice old grainery.

Getting closer...

Note to self, crop the power lines out of this pix!

Finally, the border crossing. A young college coed was asking all the questions, and she was doing it 'by the book'. Yawn. Double Yawn. Hey, I gotta pee. Any toilets around? No. Crap. Come to think of it, I gotta crap too. Getting all the bikes across was royal PITA. I was last, logic being they would be tired and fed up, and the line of cars real long. I was right. Two questions and I was in like Flynt.

Rob and Terry, Joseph to left rear, Jeremy at right rear.

Spud, FWFE, Greb await their turn to enter the great land of Oh Canda, Oh Canada, Oh Canada! At least that's what they kept singing while under the flag!

Yeah, it was looong wait.

Partially because they were tearing Sir Richard's Audi apart... he didn't help the situation as a 1/5 bottle of Southern Comfort had opened up, making the entire trunk smell like sticky sweet booze.

Eddie promises to be good while in Canada. Actually he was lusting over the coed girl. Move on Eddie move on!

After all this time, MadMike decided to show the Canadian officials EXACTLY what he thought of this long process and wait....

Finally, the 'Best Place on Earth'.. funny, because San Luis Obispo county, where I live was recently declared the 'Happiest Place on Earth.' Yeah, righty-o.

Waterfall over the dam would be a reoccurring theme..

Finally arrive at Castlegar! Found this Feejer peep with keys in, bags empty... Tired? Thirsty?

A trusting sort of feller..

Cool decal from a past rally. That was fun rally!

Ouch!

What up with splayed running lights?

Rally hotel headquarters, rear. Only a few bikes at first..

and the front.

I need help.. L-R is Rob, ??, ??, Rob's daughter ??

Ahchiu's bike was the gayest bike there. Clean, well farkled, beautiful.

The town of Castlegar loved us!

Allrighhttyyy then, time to drink and play pool. A small tavern, basement building, right next to the hotel. Perfect! Diane lines up her shot.

Sean, Roger, Deb, Tiffany. Stephanie, the barkeep, behind Sean. She was fun, earthy as earthy gets.

Yeah, blurry. Just like you were there. smiley

L-R, ?? and Sylvia of Dave and Sylvia!

The feller on the left was a local, and truly a fun guy. Way into sleds. He drew up a map for a locals ride, and it WAS a nice ride. Sam, Nightshine, listens in.

Highlander takes his shot..

This is true pool-style, ladies and gents!

Jeremey and Richard think 'I can play better pool than that!'

Diane, Dave, Deb.

The gurlz were having serious fun, it was even funner to watch them having fun!

Dave does Tim proud!

Not that stupid camera, again!

She aims. Oh wait, gotta close one eye first, she shoots!

Terri doing the funky chicken dance hoping the ball will drop into the pocket?

Lots of merriment last night.  Breakfast at hotel, then off to ainsworth hot springs for a soak. Missed Tyler's group my 1 minute, jeremy,Tiffany, rode with me, we were first to arrive!  Nice facility, good soak. Took long route home, ran into Tyler on the Spyder.

Where does all this water come from, I wondered with a central Kali frame of mind?

I recalled Nelson from 2009 Nakusp CA ride... and thought of how much had changed for peeps with me on that ride..

Clouds everywhere.. RuhRoh Ollie!

Deja Vu bridge...

I bet if I looked at 2009 pix, I have the same pix!

Finally, something NEW, WooHoo! Last time rode past, said 'I gotta stop', this time did!

Oh my, my... It appears to me this place will have nothing but old fat men and women hanging around!

Toad Rock MC campground and Mary RAWK! Got me a shirt, that woman is way too cool for skool!

Just north of Toad Rock. Several guys from Romina in a busted up van were fishing for dinner, and doing quite well, Thank You!

Yep, good ol' Kaslo.

Churches and Barns. Both offer faith in the future.

Good stuff, yes?

Note to self, replace this pix with one with Wabs in it!

Riding solo, thinking I am going to be late for banquet, again. Just like in 2k9!

..and who do I find but Ian (Shakin), the indomitable Ms. Tyler, and Charlie Hoss!

Barn shot. It's a disease. Get used to it.

Do peeps still live here? Wow.

Joe Ely, the road goes on forever, the party never ends!

Tyler and I rode back to the barn, that gurl can ride a Can Am Spyder.. Lots of body English, was getting tired just watching!

From iPad

Rain, lots of it!  Hung out at hotel, good time visiting with peeps! Great to see Barabus again, talk...

Banquet at 7:30!

Through the screened window, the rain fell. Many a Brave FJR Peep went for a ride. The CBA prez wisely decided to stay at la casa, drink adult  beverages, and find old friends. Like Barry, Barabus. ..

L-R Jer, Mcrider007 and Steve, Recreate.

Damn camera can't up with the Speedy dCarver! Recreate poses for the camera, while heading to the bar..

Petey and Nosecone.  Petey is  a hoot. He walks over to my table with a drink ticket in hand and says 'I remember you gave me cold beer when I had just got back from a hot ride. It was delicious !'

Richard, Fairlaner, and the Jeffster, Rally Master Boss man. He did a good job for us, Thanks Jeff!

Ah, various table shots.. L-R, Deb, Rog, ??, Niehart, ?? (call him Barf King!)

Sorry, no clue, and yet these peeps look like they have been to more than just a few events!

Some I know.. I think.. Crap. ????

Rob?? From east coast?

It's funny, not really, how those that know each other sit together. I'd rather sit with new peeps. Except this time I had a mission. Get Niehart fucking Hammered!

Any idea who these peeps are? I recognize Francis!L-R MCML, FjRay, Pattie, Terri, Diane, Highander, McDoc.

BikerSkiers better half, Mary Ann. Sweet woman, good heart. Honest. I like. I just wonder how Ralph ever got her interested in him? I mean, I mean... :)

Sir Richard, Fairlainer!

Jeremy and Tiffany!

Mikee, where IS that spare hand? I know, Mikee, gentlemen don't tell. And she IS smiling, so all must be good!

So many serious looks! Barry wondering what he won, Joseph looking confused (normal), FjRay thinking 'what the fuk you talkin about'? and best of all, Highlander....

priceless buddy, PRICELESS!

Karl, AirBoss, looks on in amazement as the krzy kanadian, CBA 01, Bill, Yamafitter, trys to sell some car tire biz tickets for USD!

And we all had a real good time, someone told  me I was outta of my mind!

This man can ride... Seriously..

Mr. Jeff Corwin! Great to meet him, from Cheese head city, Wisconscionous! Not exactly sure what he's practicing for in this pix, though!

L-R, Hudson, Doctor Rich, BeemerDons, EscapeArtist, Jill, Barry, Duane (Sportsguy)

Oh, my, caption this pix? It IS nice having some estrogen at these events, too much testosterone sometimes..

Sweet Francis. Got to talk to her next time we meet. This woman is amazing.

Jeff, getting his bad self on.. He seemed almost shy at the start but quickly warmed up as the night, uhh, 'progressed'!

Like eating tar. Not Tar-Tar, just La Brea tar pit tar. Surly, fjrforum peep from Australia, sent us this uhh, 'delicacy'.

Really? FarWestFastEddie actually seemed to like this stuff, or was it all just a shock act???

This man has no taste buds. Seriously. He hate that VegeCrap big time. Sick man. Really. I'm pretty sure he later puked his guts out.crying

Good for Vegeterians. They can keep this crap!

Duh woo Hoo, me name is Hudson-Poo! I'mHuddie Bears proud papa, although Huddie doesn't yet know it!

The foulest crap on the earths surface can be found in this plastic container..

Niehart going for it!

My good friend Barry, Barabus. Wish we were closer bud..

NO, not the Vegemite from Surly!

If you taste my Vegemite, I'll.....

Misson accomplished, Papa Niehart AFU! At the end of the night, Dave was seen actually heading back to the hotel, 180 degrees out of phase. Would have been a looong walk..

Dave and Sylvia aka FastJoyRides.

HuddieBears pappa bear, Hudson.! For some strange reason he developed a hair fetish, was taking pix of every ones 'backside'...

Poor Ol Eddie...

PanMan, if good form! (Kevin)

MadMike always catches the camera...

Aint he kinda young to wearing cheater glasses? Sorry, Jeff, CanadianFJR, great job. BTW, what's your gurl grabbing at? devil

Panoramic shot 1.

Panoramic shot 2.

Panoramic shot 3.

Sam and Sean. A wonderful father-son relationship. Both should be very proud. Sean, come visit me at Cal Poly?

Nice rainy day in the AM.  From Yamafitters post on fjrforum,

Almost everyone has gone. The only two folks left are CBA members #0 & #1 (yamafitter & DCarver). We decided to wait a day for more favorable conditions to our Candy Butt sensibilities. We spent the morning helping the Rally crew pack up before they headed back towards Calgary. Here we are loading up the van and trailer under the BC liquid sunshine...

From the iPad

Alan and Theresa Stephens drove up from Bonners Ferry to say hi, very nice lunch and visit. Sunshine in the afternoon, nice! Laundry going. Helped Bill with his broken glasses. Route is planned weather looks better for tomorrow!

Looking forward to riding again, this holiday is 1/2 over.

Nightshine, Sam, planning the route. He and Sean still have time, will be on the road for a bit, the lucky dawgs!

MEM's room got the treatment by the boyz.... I guess boyz will be boyx and all that. We did have a great party last night though!

Hudson prepares for a soggy ride..

Dave and Diane, Highlanders, too.

???? Need help with peepology!

My good friends Alan and Theresa Stephens. They drove over from Bonners Ferry Idaho to see me, kept me from getting wet, Thanks Guys!

Alan, pontificating!

Does Alan's driving scare Theresa that badly?

Well, this pretty much wraps up the NAFO part of NAFO 2012.. Makes me kind of sad in a way, wish I had even more time to be out on the road. The late start, having to wrench on Wabs, staying an additional day in Castlegar (today),.. I should be happy I had a chance to ride, I know, still I feel that time has slipped away.

From the iPad

Headed south!

12:21, at MickeyD's, dollar menu, wifi, Born to be Wild blaring om audio system. See FB post for pix!

Near Omak, WA. Rain finally stopped. Heated gear working great! Wabs running like a thoroughbred!

Overnighted at Best Western in Ellensburg, Wa. Great metal art work in lobby, nice jacuzzi, comfiest bed ever.

Bill, YamaFitter, with new bud HuddieBear, ready to Hyderize! I triple-dawg-dared Bill to take Huddie, and he did!

And then, there was but one bike in the lot!

Actually leaving Castlegar, but needed the pix!

My route for the day.

Good to be back on the bike after two hotel daze..

Christina Lake.

At the Carson/Danville border crossing. The guard guy was initially a jerk, he threw a royal hissy fit about my GoPro camera.

"Is that thing on?"

"Are you videoing right now?"

"Prove to me it's not recording!"

And so on and so forth. By that time I got my helmet off, he mellowed out a bit. The first 3 minutes though, I was ready to stay in Canada forever.!

Ahhh, yes, it rained too.

But the water makes for some special foto shots..

Without the bike this pix.

There was on old car rally going on, check out this steamer!

Pano shot. Nice area.

Where we be! This area is just nice.

Lucky for me, clearing skys to the west!

Good ol 97 sounds like a train song?

Unfathomable amount of water everywhere.

For some stupid reason this town, Wenatchee cracked me up, and I was rhyming and timing the Wenatchee shuffle.

Just in time, Bruce Springsteen's tunnel of love played on XM radio.. Nice.

I like to recreate!

Graduating high school senior's class year perhaps?

Sweeet! Gotta love all the green. Now then about all that rain?

It was actually chilly, so I broke out the heated Warm N Safe gear after walking through this campground. The road was closed due to a washout. Wabs could have made it through, not an FJR.

Windmills everywhere in the US these days, I guess that's a good thing,

Last pix of the day....

From the iPad

Ellensberg Wa, rode 821 hi way, nice! Rained big time for a bit!

Met Brent Nichols, great to visit.  Gotta try some Icon gear. Heavy rain into Portland. Traffic out of Portland south i5 in rain sucked, though it did clear up before Salem/Keizer.

A quick shower and food, much better. Called Shauna, no answer.. Or email.. Hope all is well.

Tomorrow with Pops and Mom.

Spent the night in Ellensberg, Washington, nice little town. The local Best Western had really nice metal sculpture done by a feller in Oregon. Really nice work, here's som pix..

The artist. I may try and find him.

The masterpiece, simply gorgeous. The hotel owners purchased these pieces and more for their other hotels. The artist can no longer be located...

The start of hiway 821, a nice little squiggly road, not an interstate. True CBA stuff here!

Learn as you go is my motto!

Self to self -
"Do you think it's raining"

MadMikes voice rings in my ears..
"You Think?"

Why we ride.. days and scenes like this, an unrolling video mind brain candy stimulating 3 dimensional event.

..and then along came Carver, (sung to tune of 'Along Came Mary' by Mamma's and Pappa's!)

New growth everywhere.

Chilly and wet again, time to don the first layer of rain and warmth gear!

Soon enough dry again and little Wabs just keeps humming along, singing her twin song.

Ok, time to loose the gear and take a break. I mean I've been on the bike for 25 minutes straight now...

Say hello to Oregon!

Riding along the Dalles..

Looking across the Columbia.. on the other side is Washington.

Rowena River road is fun and curvy. I set up the GoPro and hauled 650 ass only to find the GoPro battery shit the bed. Go figure..

How big is *your* totem pole? I wonder if this guy actually makes a decent living doing this stuff.

Pix is an insult to how pretty this was in real time..

Met up with my bud Brent Nichols in Portland, was very nice to visit with him, get caught up, and see the coolio things he has going on professionally. I'm not at liberty to discuss under fear of death!

Then on to Salem to see Mom n Pops.

From iPad

Saw pops n mom this am.  Dad recovering from cold.  Mom looks great!

found b of a, got cash, went to Bills Motorcycle Plus -cool Husky dealer with lots of old stuff too.  Have lots of pix to upload!

Dad, at 93. He's lost ground over the last year. I guess it's to be expected. His steps are now very small and without confidence. He's blind now, although can discern some light. He has bright lights strategically located around the room, uses them as beacons.

My pops is a good man grown old. I can remember when he was younger and strong, incredible work ethic..

What old people do -

  1. Wake up
  2. Potty
  3. Clean up
  4. Walk to breakfast
  5. Return to room, nap
  6. Wake up, potty
  7. Watch/Listen to TV
  8. Get ready for dinner
  9. Walk to dinner, eat
  10. Return back, watch/listen TV
  11. Fall asleep

I can't imagine being blind and old. Pops still takes care of himself as much as he can - he shaves, cleans, can use restroom on his own. He has a bevy of cute female young caretakers to give him showers twice a week. Hey, wait a minute, that sounds pretty good!~

Looking for the light beacon.  He uses the cane to 'tap' his way around the room. Sometimes he gets lost.

On the way to chow hall. I noticed that even just this short walk has him huffing and puffing a bit.

While Pops napped after lunch, I found Bills Husqvarna in Salem!

This guy rides in, saying he hears something coming from the 'back of the bike'. Bill, the owner, looks at me, looks at the rider, calmy says "If you're going to own a bike you need to learn how to adjust the chain. I'll send a tech out, we'll replace sprockets and chain, teach you how to tension it yourself;. How cool is that for a dealer?

Eclectic collection of bikes this guy has for sale! I'm glad Brent Nichols suggested I go see this place.

I haven't checked out newer Huskies in some time.. Looks like good progress is being made with marque - and street legal too!

Check out the gas filler and tank location. And the drive chain is on the 'correct' side too! I remember Huskies from the 70's..

Radiator catch tank and 1 piece plastic? Hmmm, not to sure about the 1 piece plastic..

The used bike / museum department. Honda 600R. Had one of them once, but mine was XR, not XL.

Bultaco (Sherpa??)

?????

My bud Matt Wilson had one of these, back in the day!~

Can you tell me what makes this CR500 really cool?

Here's the clue-

Racing Honda 250 perhaps?

RT360 Yamaha, man those were lusted by me and bud Charlie Dorsey when we were pups in high school.

I think my bud Mike Gentilly has one of these,

Was this bike revolutionary back in the day? I don't know.

Look at that rear tire, is thing a Bonneville flat bike?

The owner, Bill. Nice guy.

The outside junk yard. Bill said IIRC, that he had purchased the 2nd largest motobike junkyard in the USA. I asked if he had any KZ1300 parts, he said "I don't know!", LOL,

CT1 Yamaha, 175.

Not sure what this one is!

CR500 rear link, should your project bike need it..

Windjammer or Califia? Not sure???

1st year in college I wanted this bike so bad.. but no $$$.

I recognize this, it's a Wixom Brothers fairing for a Honda CB750! Had one just like it. Wonder if it's my old one from 1975?

Back out front...

Pretty nice BMW...no final drive problems either!

and finally, what we all should be riding...

After this fun, back to see Pops...

From iPad

Saw Jon Carver, my nephew, in the morning then saw Diane then visited OSU. Nice campus, brick buildings. Jon much better, on meds. Diane doing great, job though..

Wabs running great!

Off to see mom n pops now.....

My 'Performance Recognition Certification' for parking too long in Corvallis, Oregon! But I'm out of order here, pix wise....

Nephew Jon. He's doing much better this time around. I hope he can continue to progress, there's a lot going here..

We both have the same crappy enamel on our teeth, I see..

Between Salem and Corvallis on 99S.

Lunch with Diane, gfriend from high school days and a wonderful peep. We've remained friends all these years, and with her folks too.

Corvallis OR is pretty.. on my way to check out OSU.

Kind of reminds me of some houses in Paso Robles..

Various shots of OSU.

x

Cool old masonry structures - don't see those in Kali anymore.

Hey, whadda yah know, Timmie was hear too!

Silly gurlz can't even spell 'Building' correctly..

Yes, this is a chick with ass crack showing.. Nice, huh?

Noobies ready for freshman indoctrination.

Railroad tracks near Cal Poly have killed multiple students, and the railroad company has spent a small fortune to prevent idiotic students from crossing in front of a train and getting plowed. Imagine my suprise then, to see these tracks going right down the middle of campus!

All the gear, all the time!

Paying the ticket!

Dad's old house.

and the gazebo he built.. good to see it still standing!

Sis-in-laws house..

My temporary house while in Salem..

Just finished shaving...

Pops and Wayne.

Jean assists Pops back to the recliner..

What a wonderful human this woman is; she has taken care of Mom and Pops in so many ways for soo long.

This is what 93 looks like. No thank you, please, I'll go earlier..

Signing checks is difficuilt for Pops now.. He actually sounds out each letter to spell his name, and not seeing, the result is typically all over the paper.

Mom fell in love with the iPad!

Avamere was having a big bbq western style hoe-down!

Oh my, yes, I'll have a couple of those, please!

Instead, I got CJ!

Ain't she purdy?

She comes packing, too!

Sis in law, Jeri also stopped by to visit.

Then Ali, Mom's granddaughter. Ali is doing great now, in school, making adult, responsible decisions. I say Go Girl!

..and this is the result of a big day!

Up fairly early in Salem, gonna make a run for Gualala, CA. Found this sign and had to take pix for my bud Dan Hart, of Diablo Canyon fame. Last outage the poor guy came down with shingles, and we unmercifully hammered him, LOL.

My earbuds were driving me crazy, leaking ambient noise in, after miles I finally stopped and put in my back up pair..ahh, much better. I wonder why I didn't stop sooner?

The farther south, the browner it gets.

Now that's what a charging circuit is supposed to output! With both headlights on hi beam, too. Yes, I was wondering what was/is wrong with KrZy8 at this time..

Never been on this road before.. and that's the best reason to ride, yes?

Getting closer!

I love small time life. Wish I had more time to spend here.. Meet some locals, find out the scoop,..

Ahh, yes, Gualala! It's even fun to say! Eric, the proprietor, is great! Totally motobike friendly, great food, most comfie beds in world. The last 2 hours riding were wet and miserable, fog, wet wet fog.

On the way to Bones for some ribs, walked past this joint..

Ruh-Roh-Rollie, somebody ain't been paying their taxes!

Bones! How fun - 3 locals attempting to sing Beach Boys tunes.. Way off key, missed chords, really bad, and the waitress walks by and says
"Aren't they good?"

"They are the perfect end to a rainy wet ride, I say", somehow the waitress missed the joke..

Turns out the owner was one of the singers, and this is an every Saturday night occurrence.

The ribs, however, ummmm.

Good ol' Wabinator!

Very rarely do I pop for 'the nice with a view, but this time I did. Too bad for me it was foggy when I arrived. At least the next morning some of the fog had burned off and I could see the ocean..

Another barn for Andrew..

and the remains of an old house

One very loaded jeep - driver was nice to let me by!

Someday I'll stop in...

Would you believe this pix was actually taken in Texas? No? devil

That Ignacio guy is everywhere!

Foggy on the GG bridge! Had thought of going across the 580, GPS said it was shorter, but I like the GG.

SF PD rides HD.

The final leg, this church on 25, south of Hollister.

Any green you see is artificial, the water sucked up by draining other peoples lakes, rivers, water tables.

Ahh, good ol brown.

Final ride stats. Talk about a CBA ride! 15 days, 3.1k miles? WooHoo, I be CBA King!

Holy crap, check out the max speed!

Yes, good to be home..
