I shot up there on Wednesday last, and zoomed home Sunday. And took pictures.
Here we go.
Filling up at 2:30 am in Sacramento. No lines.
Up 80 in the dark, over the mountains, and down into ...
Wish I had a date...
And on out into the high desert on my way to wild, wacky, wonderful Winnemucca.
Incredibly, the sun came up .....in the east of all places!
There were scattered little storms here and there, as often happens east of the Sierras up here,
and with the sunrise, the sky took on some beautiful colors.
So I stopped for a pic or two.
No editing on this.
As I'm sure many of y'all have experienced, there are times when there is NOTHING better
than to be alone out there on your FJR.
But suddenly, the stillness and beauty were shattered by...
Moving along.
In what seemed like
I was through Winnemucca, across vindictive, unfair Oregon, and entering...
...the host state for WFO 2009!
I skirted Boise and headed north on 55.
Sorry for some of the blurriness in these shots. They were even blurrier through my eyes.
Nice road - in the spots where there was none of this.
I love clean asphalt, pine trees, fresh air,...and of course beer. How about you guys?
McCall. Reminded my of Ouray or Silverton (CO), or one of those other expensive, manicured, playgrounds where everyone's got a cabin except me.
More ridin'.
Approaching Hell's Canyon.
Just like I like my women. (Hot and yawning.)
Just 850 or so miles from my doorstep, and I was there!
After checking in, (6:30pm), I observed 4 or 5 bikes in the parking lot, all with WA plates. They were dirty.
It had been a long day, and being a senior, I figgered I'd take a nap before going down to the bar and
tearing this place UP!
I woke up at 4 am.
...To pee.
Be right back with the rest of this crap.
