Ross, regarding 'unpaved roads', yes, the first segment of the route you played with is dirt, about 3 miles.
..and one must be careful with unpaved roads and mapping software.
bing maps, google maps, basecamp, don't clearly indicate unpaved roads.
using google maps satellite view sometimes works if zoomed fully in. Street view rarely works for roads I like to ride..
Waze is the best tool I've found so far for dirt road identification. It has different colors..
Under Advanced Options, IIRC, you set in kurgiver no unpaved roads too. If Kurgiver and BC have same options, the route should be close.
Sure wish the stupid Garmin would simply play, verbatim, the desired route.
..and Thanks for tip of adding 'Intermediate' points in Kurgiver to 'force' the route. Good Stuff.
Walked away
Is it really crashing if you don't fall down?--
I wouldn't change a fucking thing; I've lived hard, played hard, and I ain't done yet. I've paid some severe penalties along the way, but the rewards have been so much greater; even if for just have participating in the game of life with utmost abandon. It's not who rides the furthest in a day, but rather in a lifetime.
CBA member #1, IBA #31845 and very proud of both.

Summary
Videos below show various testing. Final result is simple - Use Shaping Points, Medium or A Lot for Waypoints. That's the only combo that worked on the Zumo 590 when actually routing.
More testing to follow.
