Final Touches Before the Big Reveal
A couple of Things...
- Flywheel, when re-installed, was not 'indexed' correctly to Top Dead Center meaning the S, Z, and OT mark do NOT
line up correctly in the 'window. - The timing 'bean' can is at max adjustment, but the bike runs good there... so will leave as-is. Not sure what could
cause that issue. - Headlight has burned out low beam.
- After delivery, found out horns do not work.
- Tail light burned out.
- Cross-Over pipe has hole in it..
Pic depicting the timing can at max adjustment. Clutch alignment related or not? LHS.

RHS. Fortunately, the engine sounds very happy here, no pinging and responsive.

Cross-over hole upper LHS.

Was worried that with portal window not being correct, I may have mis-adjusted the valves.
So this time, used a wood dowel to locate TDC and check clearances. They were fine, even
with clutch plate being mis-indexed.
But - BARRY, CHECK VALVES USING TRUE TDC!

Next pic sequence demonstrates how far away from TDC piston is mark shows OT in window.
- Here's the OT mark, piston NOT at TDC yet as measured with wood dowel.
- Rotate crank, locate TDC using dowel.

...and this the result, viewing the flywheel clutch plate. No wonder I couldn't see any marks using the timing light!

When OT marks shows, the piston is ~1" below TDC!!

Not a big deal, but should be fixed sometime..

As found, trans was nearly dry. Drained and repaced final drive, pinion area <not sure what to call it?>
and trans.

Neighbor Gary welded up broken rear frame cross member. He does beautiful work.

Gary refused any money, told me wish Barrie a 'Happy Birthday'.

Installed an insulation 'cap' on the positive distribution point..

Topped her off with 40wt VR1 Hi-Zinc. Relax, was only an ounce, or less.

Ready for a test ride!

Thanks Don for the Help!
Barry - check out the tail light, it's working in this video. So either the bulb burned out when I test rode her or the high beam must be on, as the low beam is out, or some wiring shook free?
Also - squeek went away when off the trailer!
With that, this project comes to a close..
Thanks again to Mark, Greg, and especially Radar Wreyford!
