2024-01-20 Kz Wiring, Starter Motor, Carbs

Having finally succeded in repairing a leaky water pump seal, it's time to move on with other work.

First up is to change carbs out with freshly rebuilt rack done by WiredGeorge Carbs.
The current rack is running a tad rich...

Gotta repair starter switch too. It's intermittent. I have a new-to-me spare from eBay if needed.

and I need to clean up some wiring too.

The oem fuseblock died, so I installed separate fuses for each circuit.

It's not as bad as it looks. Really.

Throttle cables. Need new ones.

Relocating engine ground to more accessible point.

All clean and purty.

Minor oil seepage. What's behind this cover?

xCan these chain tensioners be removed for new gaskets without having chain-tooth slippage?

Hopefully it's not leaking past the base gasket.

Gonna replace the starter motor too.

Intakes with Foreign Material Exclusion covers attached.

A minor leak here, upper right corner.

Not sure what the pattern is all about...but that cylinder is running way rich.

A better view.

Fresh rebuilt carbs ready for install.

Hope he's still in buisnes..

Finished the day BBQ's steak. The boss lady supervises.

Corroded nut on starter cable. Connection was clean, however.

Out of the hole and cleaned up.

OEM starter. 60 amps initial, 30 amps running, unloaded. New one from Rick's Electro ordered.
