With WiredGeorge Carbs 'fixed', ready for install. A big day.

But one thing always begets another. As in, while the carbs are off, clean up the main wiring loom.

 Blue tape for a blue bike!

..and I have new throttle cables to install. While the switch housing is apart, let's look at the intermittent start switch.
First observation is the broken insulation.

A piece of electrical tape should suffice. More on that later.

I have a used one bought from eBay.. Hmmm.

1979 Kz1300 A1 RHS switch assembly, the OEM part.

A problem. The eBay unit has a 4 pin connector, OEM 3 pin. Must be a from a different year.
But the switch feel much better. Strong on return position, and more positive action.

The Stop/Run switch is in series with the start switch.

After thinking about it...

Let's swap the switches. Time for the solder station.
The swap worked perfectly.
Also improved the sloppy 'tape' job. :)

Carbs installed.

Next up throttle cables.
